I watched how our healthcare system made my grandmother more sick… My grandmother went into the hospital for a mitral valve replacement in 1997; her surgery went fine but her aftercare got her sick! Missed diagnosis, medication errors and apathy on the part of the medical staff, lead to her getting worse after the surgery rather than better. I thought to myself, “there has to be another way to restore dignity to healthcare and improve a person’s quality of life, by interacting with a doctor.” I pursued this concern, and found that our medical system was greatly flawed. It was ultimately based on the premise that everyone who was sick, was somehow missing something. I started to learn more about vitalism, and about how the body needed to heal itself. This inspired me to pursue a career in chiropractic care. I found that when practiced properly, chiropractic  care could empower people and restore them to health again, as well as provide a way for their health to continuously improve on a regular basis. …read more >>

I have always been interested in how the mind relates to the body, I have Bachelors degrees in Human Biology and Psychology. Then earned my Doctorate in Chiropractic from Logan University in Chesterfield, Mo. At Logan I was given a fantastic education in clinical diagnosis as well all clinical sciences. The list of types of problems with which patients come to our practice is staggering: auto-immune diseases like Multiple Sclerosis, TMJ problems, headaches, chronic child ear infections, arm and foot pain, allergies, asthma, ADD and ADHD and, of course, back pain. But the truth is I cannot legally treat any of those symptoms. In the state of New Hampshire, chiropractors are limited to “…the detection and correction of vertebral subluxation complex or syndrome….” This doesn’t mean much to lay-people and why should it?!   You have a problem that you want fixed, and you don’t need to know how. These conditions are merely symptoms of a greater issue occurring within the nervous system. I aim to find the root of the these conditions and build a treatment plan with patients bringing them to a point of stability. My wife Krystn and I spend a lot of time traveling to see our family and friends around the country. We also enjoy being as involved with seacoast community as much as possible. I have served on the Board NESSHA, have been a member of Portsmouth Rotary and have also been involved in my churches fundraising since moving back to NH. I am always looking to help people and I bring chiropractic care to those who desperately need treatment and may not be able to afford care- visiting Cross Roads House in Portsmouth, NH on a weekly basis .

Ever since I was young, I’ve had a natural gift of healing and finding areas that ail the muscular system. My personal belief is a sound body is a sound mind. In my experience, by releasing the body, the mind can release mental stress. I’m happy to help you on your path to healthy living.

Front Desk Supervisor | Courtney Lison

After having studied at Worcester State University with a focus in Occupational Therapy, I found that my interests within healthcare had expanded into the realms of preventive and holistic medicine. In 2012, I was introduced to vinyasa flow yoga and instantly fell in love with the practice. In August of 2013, I received my yoga instructor certification at the 200 HR level through Health Yoga Life in Boston, MA. The all-encompassing positive influence that yoga has brought to my life in terms of physical wellness and stress reduction has led me to seek opportunities where others share the same mindset. The collective team at Port City Chiropractic has welcomed me into their group of professionals with similar values and given me a sense of belonging. I thoroughly enjoy working in such a high energy environment where the satisfaction is written on the smiling faces of the patients I greet.
